Boating School Classes 
June 27 thru August 25
This 4-day group lesson is perfect for you, or your whole family. Learn to sail or kayak from one of our certified instructors. Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced levels available. Classes are held 10-1 PM, Mon. - Thurs., at the South Bay Skiff Dock. (A mandatory swimming test is held at 9:30 AM, on Monday.)  Private individual and group lessons are available by appointment. America's Boating Safety Course
July 5 & 6 and August 15 & 16
This nationally recognized safety training course is taught by members of the Coast Guard Auxiliary. Completing a boating safety course is mandatory in New York State in order to operate a personal water craft (PWC), or "jet ski", and people under the age of 18 must complete a boater safety course in order to operate a vessel without adult supervision. Upon passing the final exam, students will obtain their NYS boating certificate. Register at the TIP Library or call Laura @ (315) 447-3501.

Novice Navigator Course
July 11 & 12 (9 am - Noon)
This new course offering is for aspiring river navigators (ages 14 and up) who want to expand their river horizons to confidently explore a wider swath of the islands. Taught by Captain Joe Calzone, US. Coast Guard Auxiliary, this class will teach you how to navigate safely in unfamiliare waters using a variety of techniques included charts and GPS. Students will learnwhich methods are best in which situations. Classes will be held at the TIP Main Dock. To register, call Marie at 482-2452 by July 15th.

Non-member fee: $85.00 Powerboat Handling Course 
July 31 OR Aug21 (9 - Noon + 2.5 hr’s. on the water)
For ages 18 & up and licensed 15-17 yr. olds. This 6-hour course is for all aspiring, and confirmed “river rats” who want build more  skill "at the wheel." Taught by Captain Joe Calzone, of the Coast Guard Auxiliary, the class reinforces safe boat handling techniques in a variety of common scenarios: docking, towing, M.O.B., collision avoidance, post-collision, etc. The course is 3-hours of classroom time and 2.5 hrs. on the water. Classes will be held at the TIP Main Dock. To register call Marie @ 482-2452. Register early - class size is limited!
